No photo session. No session fees. Just formal, Fine Art portraits created from the photos you already have – printed as heirloom artwork, never delivered as files.
At Daniel James Fine Art Studio, everything begins with a simple, relaxed photo – a phone snapshot, an everyday moment, a picture you already love (as long as it is sharp, clear and well lit). From that one image, we build a finished Fine Art portrait: refined lighting, thoughtful posing, an elevated setting, and a quiet, classic mood that feels worthy of your wall.
This is not a “session and files” studio. Daniel James Fine Art Studio exists for clients who want formal portraits that feel elevated, dignified, and worthy of display – created from the snapshots they already have.
Most photography today is fast, digital, and disposable. Hundreds of images, all living on phones and drives, rarely printed and easily forgotten. We work differently. We slow down, design only a handful of finished portraits from a single snapshot, and prepare them as true Fine Art pieces intended to live on your wall or in your hands for years to come.
Your portrait does not depend on a perfect studio, elaborate set, or exhausting photo session. It depends on an artist who understands how to see you in a simple photo – and then build the rest with intention, restraint, and care.
These portraits began as two quick phone snapshots in a school cafeteria – no studio lights, no posing, no special wardrobe.
The original images were captured in less than 20 seconds at a school event. From that brief moment, we created a classic portrait of her, a distinguished portrait of him, and a formal couple’s portrait suitable for display as wall art.
Your face, your expression, your presence – that is all we need to begin. The lighting, wardrobe, background, and final polish are crafted later, using the discipline of Fine Art portraiture and decades of photographic experience.
Simple for you. Detailed for us. You never see test shots or half-done ideas – only finished artwork, ready to become part of your home.
You share a clear, well-lit photo – often just a phone snapshot – along with a sense of what you’d love: classic studio, soft glamour, formal, storybook, boudoir, or something in between. No wardrobe panic. No session hectics. No bright lights pointed at you. Just the life you’re already living.
Behind the scenes, we craft your portrait as a finished piece of Fine Art: shaping light, refining pose, choosing a setting, and gently perfecting every detail, while preserving your true face and character. You are not turned into someone else – distractions are simply removed.
Instead of hundreds of files, you see 8–12 fully finished portraits. There are no session fees and no obligation. You invest only in the portraits you cannot imagine leaving behind – as wall art or in a Fine Art Portfolio Book.
Every portrait is designed as an heirloom — not a file.
You invest only in the artwork that moves you.
Each is printed for display and legacy.
Finished portraits are offered only as printed artwork. We do not sell digital files. Each piece is priced simply by size, using a plain, transparent structure of $1.25 per square inch. No surprise fees, no packages to decode.
Each portrait is printed on your choice of canvas, acrylic, metal, mounted photo paper, or mounted metallic photo paper. Frames and mats are not included – your artwork arrives ready to display or to frame in your own style.
A powerful way to keep multiple portraits. Your book includes twelve 8×12 full-spread images – one portrait per spread – turning your session into a private gallery you can hold in your hands. Many clients choose a wall portrait and a portfolio book to preserve the full story.
If you’re looking for more than quick snapshots and digital files, we may be the right fit. We accept a limited number of commissions so each portrait receives the attention a true Fine Art piece requires.
Share a few details below and we’ll personally follow up to discuss who the portrait is for, the fine art style portraits you have in mind, and how you’d like the finished artwork to live in your home.
There is no obligation and no session fee – this is simply a conversation to see if the Daniel James Fine Art approach is right for you.
